Friday 10/17/08-Game On

‘Game on’ is an article that informs the readers about the various jobs in the gaming industry and how those jobs will be in high demand for workers in the near future. Total sales in the United States gaming industry for 2007 are about $16 billion and $17 billion. Just 50 years ago it was just a few geeks in there basement or garage.

More Gamers=More Designers
Video games are in high demand today than any other time before with this increase the numbers of available jobs in the gaming industry has also increased. Whole teams of people work on designing the video games we all know and love. The average cost of developing these video games has gone up from an average of $40,000 to around $10 million per game. This price jump has been cause by the complexity of today’s games and the pay of the enormous teams that are working.

Becoming a game designer is not just fun and games. Game development is considered one of the most challenging degrees to earn. Students can choose for three different tracks, Art and Animation, Game Design, and Electronic Game Programming.

Find Your Game
To create games it takes up to 150 people to finish the job. Artists create the look of the game. Animators add movement to the artwork. Game designers work to create the over all look and feel of the game. Programmers program the game so that when a button is pressed the character or game will respond. Programming requires advance technical understanding. Programming Is one of the highest paying jobs in the gaming industry.

DANG I REALLY DID NOT KNOW ALL THAT INFORMATION AND HOW THESE INDUSTRIES WORK AND I WOULDENT KNOW AND MANY PEOPLE DO BUY ALOT OF GAMES EVEN TEENAGERS
